Seeking a well-deserved break from your latest misadventures, you book passage aboard the legendary Orient Express. Your holiday turns out to be unexpectedly short-lived. The train has barely left Paris when word spreads that someone has just been murdered! Will you discover "whodunit" before the Mystery Express reaches its final destination in Istanbul?
Mystery Express is a new deduction game set aboard the Orient Express. The murder incorporates 5 different elements - Motive, Location, Time, Modus Operandi, and Suspects - each of which is represented by a set of Crime cards. The players take on the role of one of 5 traveling characters, each who has their own special powers of deduction. The player who figures out the who, what, where, when and why of the murder before the train reaches Istanbul will win.
What makes Mystery Express uniquely challenging is that there are two identical copies of each Crime card, except Time cards which have three). Since 1 card from each category is hidden at the beginning of the game, to rule out a specific crime element you must see both of the identical cards - or all three in the case of the Time cards.
Featuring top-notch components and period-perfect illustrations, Mystery Express re-invents the classic deduction game. Along with the Mystery Express board map detailing its itinerary from Paris to Istanbul the game features: 5 resin character figures and matching character tokens, plus a Conductor figure; 5 Ticket wallets that include a description of each character's special power; a tablet of Deduction sheets that players use to keep track of their deductions; and 72 Crime cards.
