Pocket Battles
Game Setup
 Size of battle in multiples of 10 (60-100 DP)
 Select troops and form Units
o Number of troops in a Unit is limited by lowest FV of all troops
 Take a number of Order tokens for every multiple of 10 DP in play
Army Deployment
 Left/Center/Right sectors each with a Front/Rear ranks
o Engagement zones exist between each sector
 Roll d6 and high roller is the Attacker (lower is Defender)
 Start with Attacker, players alternate placing one Unit in one of the six sectors
o Sector may have more than 1 Unit
o Only the topmost Troop is initially visible
 Players reveal all Units after they are all fielded
Battle Round: Attacker begins 1st round and play alternates; Defender starts 2nd round
 Unit Redeployment (optional) but not into Engagement zone
o Move 1 Unit from one sector to another for free
 This Unit may not be ordered this turn (unless special trait)
 Action place a # of Order tokens = to # of tokens currently on Unit +1 (1/2/4)
o Player does 1 action with 1 unit
- Tactical Move: move from one sector to another but not engagement zone
- Charge (black-dice Unit): move from front rank to engagement zone
 Opponent reacts
o Intercept (move 1 black-dice Unit to engage) or,
o Shoot (1 white-dice Unit and charging unit chooses target) or,
o Wait (allows charging unit to choose a target)
 Charge with no enemy units in front rank and opponent must Wait
 Charge with no enemies in sector and move to adjacent sector and engage
o Choose any unit in front or rear rank to move to engagement zone
- Carry on Engagement (if two #s appear on a card then 2 hits for # rolled)
 Roll d6 (+d6 if Unit Charged) and look for matches for number of wounds
 Wounds from unused tokens 1st, then used order tokens, or remove troop
 Opponent strikes back with surviving troops
 When all enemies are destroyed, survivors go back to front rank
 When troop cards remain from both sides they remain engaged
- Leave Engagement: opponent strikes, then all Units move back to Fronts
- Shoot (white-dice Unit): Unit in front rank target in front or engagement zone
 Roll d6 and look for matches for number of hits
 Shoot at engaged units and all hits are divided between units (rounded up)
 Shoot with no enemy in front rank then hit the rear rank
 Shoot with no enemies in sector then hit any unit in adjacent sector
- Special Trait: cannot be used in the first turn of the game by the attacker

- Pass: place 1 Order token to the side which is considered used and do nothing
End of a Battle Round: When both players run out of order tokens
 Recover used order tokens and,
 Recover wound tokens of killed troops or,
 Eliminate wounded troops in order to recover tokens
Winner: when half of the enemy Army is destroyed or, if tied then player who destroyed more troops or, if still tied then the defender wins
