个人觉得这个地方 FAQ有些问题的
首先什么是cost，很明确的定义：
Costs are any resources paid in order to play a card, as well as anything before the “to” part of a card ability.
关键一个to，cthulhu有吗？没有！
然后，FAQ提出了一个容易混淆的概念
Note that sacrificing a card to pay for an effect is also considered paying a cost.
其实这句话和前一句定义完全一致的，这里也有一个to。所以牺牲xx，来做xx这个牺牲是cost，没有异议。
还提到
When any player has a sacrifice effect, that cost must be paid, if able.
这句话其实也是废话，任何效果要执行，它的cost当然要支付。
但是后面提到一句有问题的了
Similarly, if the effect is a Forced Response, that sacrifice must take place, if able.
其实这句话如果是要强调一旦牺牲是作为强制响应的效果不能被取消，下面就不应该举这个例子。那个例子是一个通用的效果。争议也就是来自这句话吧。
然后就在cthulhu的例子里用了奇怪的文字了
Jack “Brass” Brady is returned to its owner’s hand, preventing the sacrifice. Thus, the cost has not been paid. However, since Cthulhu’s ability is a forced response, the cost must be paid, if able.
这里哪有cost。。。
