Produce Food and Pay Consumption / Produce Resources and Pay Corruption
Mines and Farms produce Resources every turn during the Production & Maintenance
Phase that happens after you have completed your Civil Actions. They also pay
Consumption and Corruption. The order of this step is:
- Produce Food (move blue tokens onto your farms)
- Pay consumption (move blue tokens off of the farms as necessary)
- Produce resources (move blue tokens onto your mines)
- Pay corruption (move blue tokens off of the mines as necessary)

In the above example, you would add two blue tokens to the Level A Farm each turn.
Each blue token would represent one Food. You are therefore producing two Food per
turn.

In the above example, you would add five Resource tokens to the two Mines each turn,
one for each of the five mines you own. Each blue token on an Iron Mine is worth two
Resources, while the Bronze Mine tokens are worth one. You are therefore producing
seven (1 + 1 + 1 + 2 + 2) Resources per turn. As you can see, higher level Mines and
Farms are more efficient, letting your produce more Resources or Food for each yellow
token on them. Higher level Mines and Farms are helpful to prevent Corruption.
Using the above example, the orange player will:
- Produce four Food per turn, one for each Farm. The four food tokens come from
the Supply, leaving only four left.
- Next, the player will pay three Consumption by moving three blue tokens from
his Farms back to the Supply, leaving seven left.
- Next, the player will move four blue tokens to his Mines, three on the Iron Mine
and one on the Bronze Mine, leaving three tokens left.
- He will then pay four Resources due to Corruption. He can pay this with two blue
tokens from his Iron Mine. Therefore, he is producing seven Resources per turn,
and paying Consumption of four, for a net gain of three Resources per turn. He
will want to move some of his Farm and Mine workers to other duties to prevent
overstocking Resources.
All players farms immediately produce, then you do consumption. Next, all mines immediately produce (including any bonuses from Trans. Railroad, Bill Gates, etc) and then you do corruption.
