NOTICE TO HKSW MEMBERS AND FRIENDS
HKSW Special Meeting at 0310圖版遊戲博覽會
Two local schools has applied for Li Ka Shing Fund - Love Idea Hong Kong last year to subsidise their plan to promote Boardgame to Hong Kong primary and secondary school students. The application was approved and the schools will hold a "Boardgame Fair" from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on 10th March 2012 in Tsim Sha Tsui District Kaifong Welfare Association HALL. The Boardgame Fair will include, among other things, Boardgame Forum, Open Eurogame competitions, game demonstration, etc.
The Hong Kong Society of Wargamers shall hold a special meeting there (i.e. you can play Miniatures Wargames, Board Wargames, Eurogames) from 10:30 a.m. to 17:00 p.m. to support this function. No facilities on foods and drinks will be provided but door fee will be waived for this special meeting. There will be at least six 5 foot by 4 foot double tables (with 4 chairs for each double table) allocated to the Society.
Quoting our Chairman's email to me: "It should be a good opportunity to make ourselves known to a larger audience."
Quoting one of our Committee Member's email: "Yes I agree we are not a profit making organization but a social group open to members of the public. This surely should be encouraged. I would suggest at the very least members wear HKSW T shirts. This will enhance the fair as interested people will know who best to talk to. "
The Society will neither receive any money nor sign-up any new members there on that day. What we shall do is to introduce ourselves to visitors and passerby on their requests, replying to their queries about Boardgame and Wargame (including miniatures and board) as well as the Society. It is likely that we shall only give them contact and general information of the Society (such as email address of the contact person and the Society's website) so that interested party can contact us for further detail information if they so wish.
Should you be interested to book the tables for game play or demonstration to passerbys or visitors there, please let me know by email on or before 8/3/2012 (Thursday) so that I can notify Cheng Tai King and Anthony Leung for administration purpose.
For your information, the following members have indicated that they are interested to host a gaming session on that day there (subject to change without prior notice).
