English:

To the beginning of play the canoe is placed by DIAMOND JOE on the first river space (with the landing place).

Its canoe loads DIAMOND JOE
All players implement their play courses. Then the river is moved. Subsequently, the empty canoe is loaded by DIAMOND JOE on of the place of discovery, at which it stands. Always a jewel in the color of the place of discovery is loaded. On of this place of discovery if only jewels of other color(s) are present, the canoe is not loaded by DIAMOND JOE. If its canoe does not stand at a place of discovery or is already loaded, it is not loaded. The canoe of DIAMOND JOE is never unloaded (at places of discovery).
DIAMOND JOE moves
Subsequently, DIAMOND JOE moves. The paddle map of the starting player surrounds on, like many river fields his canoe is moved. The canoe is moved upriver first. If it reaches the first river field (with the landing place), it is continues to mover downriver, until all points of paddle are used up. If DIAMOND JOE crosses river fork, he is moves in (in course direction) right riverarm.
DIAMOND JOE remains thus with its canoe in the river, it always falls with it the waterfall down. In this case its canoe is placed at the beginning of the next play round again on the first river field with the landing place. If it fell loaded with a jewel, then this is put back again into the color fitting place of discovery.
If the starting player played the cloud map, the canoe is not moved by DIAMOND JOE (after the river movement).
Meeting with DIAMOND JOE
Who on the river field stops on which DIAMOND JOE is, has (mostly) luck, because DIAMOND JOE is very generous:
If their own canoe is empty, one may load oneself the jewel from DIAMOND JOE into the own canoe
If their own canoe is already loaded, one may exchange the loaded jewel with from DIAMOND JOE. If the canoe of DIAMOND JOE is empty, one may give him also the own loaded jewel.
The actions mentioned are not voluntary and "cost" paddle points. They are however not possible "in driving past", but then only if the own course actually ends on the field, on which stands DIAMOND JOE. Who stops there, but would like to do none of the actions mentioned to implement, may without it.
And in the end still another kind regards from DIAMOND JOE, which wishes you much fun with jewel fish.

Er ist immer unterwegs und mit allen Wassern gewaschen. Keine Stromschnelle ist ihm fremd. Mit seinem alten, geflickten Kanu besucht DIAMANTEN JOE die Orte, an denen es sich lohnt, noch Edelsteinen zu suchen. Und so hat er fast immer ein poor Klunker in der Westenasche. Aber sie bedeuten ihm nichts. Viel lieber beobachtet er den Flug der Vögel hört auf das Rufen der Elche und beäugt den Flossenschlag der Fische. Wenn du DIAMANTEN JOE begegnest, wird er dir meistens einen Edelstein zustecken oder zum Tausch anbieten. Einfach so. Ganz uneigennützig. Weil er es mag, hier draußen, verwegenen Abenteurern wie dir zu begegnen ...

Das Kanu von DIAMANIEN Joe
Was ändert sich mit DIAMANTEN JOE an Niagara?
... bei der Spielvorbereitung:
Zum Spielbeginn wird das Kanu von DIAMANIEN JOE auf das erste Flussfeld (bei der Anlegestelle) gestellt.
...In den Spielrunden:
DIAMANTEN JOE belädt sein Kanu
Alle Spieler führen ihre Spielzüge aus. Dann wird der Fluss bewegt. Anschließend wird das leere Kanu von DIAMANIEN JOE on der Fundstelle beladen, an der es steht. Aufgeladen wird stets ein Edelstein in der Farbe der Fundstelle.
Befinden sich on dieser Fundstelle nur Edelsteine anderer Farbe(n), wird das Kanu von DIAMANIEN JOE nicht beladen. Wenn sein Kanu nicht an einer Fundstelle steht oder
bereits beladen ist, wird es nicht beladen. Das Kanu von DIAMANIEN JOE wird nie (an Fundstellen) entladen.
DIAMANTEN JOE zieht
Anschließend zieht DIAMANTEN JOE. Die Paddelkarte des Startspielers gibt an, um wie viele Flussfelder sein Kanu bewegt wird. Das Kanu wird zunächst flussaufwärts gezogen. Erreicht es das erste Flussfeld (bei der Anlegestelle), wird es flussabwärts weiter gezogen, bis alle Paddelpunkte verbraucht sind. Überquert DIAMANIEN JOE dabei die Flussgabelung, wird er in den (in Zugrichtung) rechten Flussarm gezogen.
DIAMANTEN JOE bleibt also mit seinem Kanu immer im Fluss, es sei denn, er stürzt mit ihm den Wasserfall hinunter. In diesem Fall wird sein Kanu zu Beginn der nächsten Spielrunde wieder auf das erste Flussfeld bei der Anlegestelle gestellt. Ist er beladen mit einem Edelstein abgestürzt, so wird dieser wieder in die farblich passende Fundstelle zurückgelegt.
Hat der Startspieler die Wolkenkarte gespielt, wird das Kanu von DIAMANIEN JOE (nach der Flussbewegung) nicht bewegt.
Begegnung mit DIAMANTEN JOE
Wer auf dem Flussfeld zu stehen kommt, auf dem sich DIAMANTEN JOE befindet, hat (meistens) Glück, denn DIAMANTEN JOE ist sehr spendabel:
Ist das eigene Kanu leer, darf man sich den Edelstein von DIAMANIEN JOE ins eigene Kanu laden.
Ist das eigene Kanu bereits beladen, darf man den geladenen Edelstein mit dem von DIAMANTEN JOE austauschen. Sofern das Kanu von DIAMANTEN JOE leer ist, darf man ihm auch den eigenen geladenen Edelstein schenken.
Die genannten Aktionen sind freiwillig und “kosten" keine Paddelpunkte. Sie sind aber nicht "im Vorbeifahren" möglich, sondern nur dann, wenn der eigene Zug tatsächlich auf dem Feld endet, auf dem DIAMANTEN JOE steht. Wer dort zu stehen kommt, aber keine der genannten Aktionen ausführen möchte, darf darauf verzichten.
