With 2 decks of Love Letter we played 8 people the other night with the following:
8 Person
1 - 8 Princess
1 - 7.5 Queen
2 - 7 Countess
1 - 6 King
4 - 5 Prince
4 - 4 Handmaid
4 - 3 Baron
4 - 2 Priest
11 - 1 Guard
32 Cards Total
It worked very well, loads of fun. played about 90 minutes to 3 letters. Shorter game to 2 letters took about an hour.
The Queen you ask, she adds a ton of spice to the game. Her rules:
If caught by a guard, she stays in the round an draws a new card. If either with the King or a Countess, Discard the Queen. The Queen uses the Guard's ability naming ANY card and ignores the Handmaiden's Ability.
So she has enough power to stay in the round if caught by a guard. She can be laid down if caught with the King or one of the Countesses. (Recommended to play with two Countesses.) If laid down by force or volunteer has an ability like the Guard yet can name ANY card and ignores the Handmaiden. (she does not get this ability if caught by a guard because she got caught out of turn.)
She has a punch but she is the Queen.

I sleeved all my cards and slid a print of the queen in front of one of the Kings and a print of a Guard in front of one of the Princesses. Can only have one of each in the game anyway.
游戏主要的改变就是加入了Queen这个角色，她的规则是：If caught by a guard, she stays in the round and draws a new card. If either with the King or a Countess, Discard the Queen. The Queen uses the Guard's ability naming ANY card and ignores the Handmaiden's Ability.翻译过来是：如果她被guard效果猜中，那么持有她的玩家不会出局，而是抽一张卡（我觉得作者漏了一句话，把Queen先弃掉，要不然没办法保证一张手牌，另外这个弃牌不发动效果）。如果她与king或者countess同时存在就必须弃掉Queen
她也可以主动打出，效果是：与guard基本相同，不过无视女仆的魔免效果而且可以猜guard...
