I made some questions to Mr. Friese and here you have the answers:
1 - Funkenschlag - Fabrikmanager have something in common with Funkenschlag?
FF - The game has several things in common with Funkenschlag, but the game itself (the mechanics) is unique. It will be an economic game, where the turn order is very important (even more important than in Funkenschlag). You try to maximize your income, because the player with the most money wins. At the gathering of friends sombody told me, that the crazy thing about the game is, that it has no mechanisms in common with Funkenschlag, but feels the like Funkenschlag.
2 - Funkenschlag - Fabrikmanager will be present in Essen this year, for5 sure?
FF - Whatever sure means, it will be my new Essen game.
3 - What could you said about your new game that make me want to buy it?
FF - It is a very deep but short strategy game, where every player has only five turns all over the game. So it is a very tough game, where you try to make no mistakes. A gamers game.
4 - 2F-Spiele have surprises for Essen 2009? Could you "show" us something?
FF - If I show you something, it would no surprise anymore. :-)
5 - What is your opinion about the SdJ 2009 choice?
FF - After the nominations where out, the most important question for me (as a nominated author) was, if the jury thinks that Dominion is a game even nongamers can get in with only reading the rules.
It seems that the jurys opinion is, that it is possible, so Dominion won.
