Princes of the Dragon Throne is a deck building game, but we have added several twists to the concept in an attempt to remove the feeling that all players are playing solitaire. There will be player interaction and a small amount of screwage.
We have cards that a player will acquire and place in their opponent's deck.Think of it as a secret agent sent to do your bidding.
Players are not playing for victory points. They are attempting to amass a force strong enough to defeat the Dragon King, and if necessary one another.
Players will not play all of the cards in their hand each turn, and will be able to choose some to save for the next turn, or the next, etc.
There will be resource tokens, at least two kinds, a player can collect and use as required.
Some cards will be played to your tableau and persist from turn to turn, but will require the management of those resources to keep them there.
The cards available to acquire are not static. The dragons and citizens are constantly moving through the land and if you don't get them soon enough they may be gone forever.
On top of all this we will be showcasing the art of this game in a way we haven't seen yet. (Of course, we haven't seen everything.) Don Aguillo is an incredible artist and we really want to do his art justice.
